Weddings can be as simple or as elaborate as you wish them to be.
Legal Requirements
Each destination has slightly different requirements for weddings to be legalised for Australian Citizens. Such requirements usually include:
- A minimum of 4 days stay in the country prior to the wedding
- Original copies of birth certificates & passports
- Decree Absolut if previously married
- Confirmatory letter of current status to be obtained from the Marriage Registry in Australia
- Registration forms to be completed and returned at least 21 days prior to the wedding
Note: Presently, legally recognised wedding ceremonies in French Polynesia require one month residency in the country prior to the day
