Getting There

Polynesian Blue: Direct Flights from Sydney plus connecting services from Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne and Perth.

Air New Zealand: flights (via Auckland) from Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Perth.

Upolu

Housing the capital city of Apia, the international airport and many must-see attractions including the Robert Louis Stevenson Museum. Lush rainforests in the centre of the island are encased by palm fringed beaches along the coast.

Savaii

A very large and unspoilt beautiful island whose inhabitants maintain a very traditional way of life. Lava coasts surround a stunning rainforest centre.

Climate

The average year-round temperature in Samoa is a warm 29 C. Tropical rains are experienced between November and March and cooling trade winds between May and November.

Entry Requirements

For Australian travellers, passports must be valid for at least 6 months after the ticketed length of stay and a ticket for either return or onward travel is required. A maximum sty of 30 days is permitted without a visa. Please reconfirm these details with your trravel agent as regulations may change.

Departure Tax

Currently a departure tax of S$40 must be payed on departure from samoa. Pleas recheck these details with your travel agent.

Language

English is the official language of business in Samoa. The national language is Samoan.

Attire

A light tropical wardrobe is required, however when visiting local villages and towns, avoid wearing skimpy clothing. When attending church, respectable attire is appropriate. nude or topless sunbaking will cause offence.

Currency

The basic unit of currency is the samoan Tala (dollar)
