dotted_arrowSelf-Drive - Fiji

For the idnependent traveller, Fiji's main island of Viti Levu offers wonderful opportunities to explore unspoilt environs, visit local villages, appreciate spectacular views and enjoy the diversity of the many resorts and hotels. Navigating the island is an easy task with one main road following the coastline all the way round.

When driving in Fiji It is important that you take your time and drive slowly as it is not uncommon to encounter children and livestock wandering the sides of the roads. The Queens Road following the west coast from Rakiraki to Suva is sealed all the way and the spectacular Kings Road to the east from Suva to Rakiraki has an unsealed section, requiring a 4WD vehicle.

Self-Drive itineraries can be adjusted according to your interests and the time you have available in Fiji.  Two recommended itineraries are presented here, complete with car hire, accommodation and some meals.  Alternatively you may wish to take a car for just a few days, in which case the daily hire rates are listed below (insurance and other charges may apply)
